I'm feeling in the mood for some school time fun!! Hence, the new background. :)
You still feel it, right? The excitement about a new school year, new supplies, school clothes shopping, finding good deals, and the children's anticipation for new teachers and seeing their friends again.....I love it.
I don't miss teaching, but it does feel good to know that I'll be involved again once school starts. I'll be coordinating the Parent Volunteer schedule for the teachers, staff, and parent/grandparent volunteers. I'm looking forward to working with all of these different people, and it will be fulfilling for me to be helping out with something the school and teachers need that hasn't been happening.
Although I'll miss having Bethany at home so much, I know how much she'll enjoy first grade, so I'm ready for it, too. And, yes, I'll get a break from the days where she is bored and the girls fight and annoy me. You all know what I'm talking about. I'm also looking forward to days that require more routine in my life. A specific time to wake up, lists, chores, pickup schedules, etc. It's all good for me and for my family....not that we won't struggle because we take our time about eating breakfast all summer long, like 9 am, and now it has to be before 8 am. That's our biggest battle with Bethany before school.
But, anyway, are you feeling it too?!

Yes, I am right there with you, girl! This year it will be just Kimberly and I. Everyone will be going back. The only thing I am not looking forward to is the homework. It seems to be quite a task for the girls. I hope that we can be in the new house soon so we can spread out. That will make a difference.
I'm also looking forward to school. I've enjoyed having Chris at home but I crave the routine that goes along with back-to-school. There is also something magical about that 3:30pm time when I begin watching out the window to see Chris in the distance walking home and appreciating him more every day.
We are also feeling the excitement. The kids are getting excited to start. Sara is curious about Middle School, and I think a little nervous. I'm ready for a schedule, but not ready to wake up at 6:00 a.m. But, I don't feel like we did everything this summer that we wanted to do, so I'm a little sad for summer to be over. But, so goes life. :)
I'm all over back to school. The kids are excited, but I'm giddy. It's not because I want them to leave me . . . we've had a good month of togetherness; it's just that I loved elementary school so much and so I get so excited for the girls to have similar experiences. Don't worry, Chris has already told me I'm weird. :) P.S. I might use some of this comment in my blog . . . this is good stuff. :)
YES! I wasn't excited for school to start until last week. The kids are ready and so am I, but life will get CRAZY now (diff. pick-up times, homework, projects, 3 diff. soccer teams with diff practices and games, scouts, etc...) Lazy summer days are over!
